TRTP:
The Richards Trauma Process

Do you feel like the events of the past are holding you back from moving forward?

Are you having flashbacks nightmares or night terrors?

Do you have a diagnosis of Past Traumatic Stress (PTSD), Chronic Stress, Chronic Fatigue, Anxiety or depression?

There is finally a fast, effective and safe way that can help you to recover, get back into your life and create the life that you want. The Richards Trauma Process (TRTP) takes you from a place of emotional and or physical pain to a place of freedom, peace and calm, quickly, effectively and without re traumatising you. You don’t need to relive your past to be free from it AND you don’t need to be in therapy for years.

TRTP was created by Judith Richards who herself suffered terrible physical and emotional trauma. Through her own journey, Judith has created a safe and effective way to help anyone who has experience any level of trauma in their lives quickly and effectively! TRTP is a 3 step process with most steps taking 1 session.

Most PTSD, anxiety, depression or phobias stem from the belief that you are not safe. This keeps us in the loop of fight, flight and freeze. In order for this loop to be broken most trauma experts believe that two things need to happen. One is that the body needs to know that it’s over and two, the person must view the situation from the empowered position. TRTP enables to you to do this easily and without re triggering or re traumatising you.

PTSD, anxiety, depression, chronic stress or phobias are all symptoms of a past that is unresolved within you. The great news is that you no longer need to put up with these symptoms. You can stop living in the past, stop living in fear and stop living with chronic stress and start living the life that you want. You can set yourself free and create the life that you’ve always dreamed. You can once and for all leave the past in the past where it belongs so you no longer need to rehash it or relive it.

The event is over why am I still on edge?

The reason that you are still on edge is that your brain has changed during that period of stress so that it now thinks the threat is still happening. You are stuck in a loop that you can’t get out of. You can’t think properly because the prefrontal cortex of your brain has changed. This is the part of the brain that affects your ability to focus, learn and remember things, socialise, decision making and judgement. Long term change can only happen when you can settle down all the stress activity so that you feel safe once again and bring the messaging in your brain back to standard functioning. During the session and through therapeutic intervention, we reduce the cortisol damage and change the brain biochemistry so that you can feel calmer and more in control of your life and your life choices.

What happens before the session?

One week before your first session, you will be asked to provide some information which will help me to prepare for your sessions.  This forms a vital part of your sessions and helps me to identify what is happening for you before you arrive so that we can use our session time more effectively.

What happens during the session?

TRTP is a 3 step process where each step builds on the next.  The process is tailored to each clients experience to ensure that each step is completed prior to starting the next.

During each session there will be some coaching, psycho education and an intervention component. Depending on what’s required for each client, we may continue with the coaching work or we may go into the intervention component which is the reimagining process. During the reimagining process you may talk or be asked to nod your head or to speak in response to certain questions.

What is reimagining?

Reimagining is a closed eyed process which uses your imagination and is similar to hypnosis.  The main difference between reimagining and hypnosis is that reimagining is less relaxation focussed and more dynamic.

During reimagining you will still know that you are in the room with me and you will always have the choice to follow what I am asking you to do. The way to get the best out of your session is to follow the instructions as best you can, embody each instruction and just let yourself go.

How many sessions do I need?

TRTP is a 3 step process.  Each step is generally 1 session however, it may be spread over a few sessions to ensure each step is completed.

How long is the session?

Sessions are around 2 hours each.

What should I do after the session?

Take some time out for yourself. Don’t rush to your next meeting. You may want to take an hour or so to reflect on the insights gained during the session.

How to get the best out of TRTP session?

It’s best to come with an open mind regarding what’s possible for you. The more open you can be about the possibilities for you and your life, the better the outcome.
