Just Breathe – the importance of breathing

I hope everyone had an opportunity to get in some family or leisure time during the Easter break.  For me it’s a reminder to find the balance between family time, personal time and clinic.  It’s also a great time to re-calibrate my perception of balance because when we’re really focused on something we may be out of balance without realising it.

During the break I managed to watch the movie Heal.  Many people in my industry have recommended it so I thought I’d give it a go.  It featured many of the Hay House authors including Anita Moorjani, Bruce Lipton and Joe Dispenza.  It was a wonderful reinforcement and reminder of who we truly are as beings.  We are incredible, and our body has a natural ability to heal itself when given the right environment.

It reinforces what I see regularly in clinic which is, when you are out of balance, it can affect you biochemically, physically and/or mentally.  Sometimes an imbalance in one of the areas creates imbalance in other areas or it could be that all areas are out of balance requiring some serious intervention on all three!  If you want to learn more about healing, many concepts are explained really well with some real life case studies and outcomes.

Latest News: New Clinic website
After a false start earlier in the year I am pleased to announce we have a new clinic website up and running.  I am so happy to finally give the clinic website a much needed upgrade.  It’s a more modern design with everything laid out in a more friendly way.  Check it out at.


When I created the clinic over 7 years ago, it was my vision to bring together many practitioners under one roof.  There wasn’t anything like that around Maroubra at the time and for me it felt like a natural progression to move from working on my own in a small room above the Chemist Warehouse at Maroubra Junction, to sharing a purpose build space with so many talented practitioners.  Take a moment to check out some of the other practitioners in the space when you’re checking out the website if you haven’t already.

Activity for the Month – Just breathe
We breathe every day of our lives but have we ever taken the time to learn how to breathe correctly that can both energise and relax us?  We are designed to take in oxygen but in my experience most people don’t really know how to breathe for therapeutic benefit.  It’s both simple and effective.  The following link has a demonstration of deep breathing.  Check in out and let me know how it’s working for you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UB3tSaiEbNY&t=23s

Regular deep breathing has been shown to decrease stress and help you feel calmer in your life overall.  You only need to focus on your deep breathing 3-4 times a day for around 5 breaths each time.
